Ed Chiles is the steward of Gamble Creek Farms in Parrish, Florida, where his work is centered on regenerative agriculture, sustainability, and strengthening the connection between land, food, and community. Since acquiring the farm in 2021, Ed has focused on advancing permaculture-based practices that restore soil health, conserve water, and produce distinctive, high-quality crops for both restaurants and the local community. Gamble Creek Farms serves as a model for resilient, environmentally responsible farming in Florida.
With a lifelong appreciation for Florida’s natural resources and food systems, Ed has dedicated his career to sustainable practices across agriculture and hospitality. He previously led a group of waterfront restaurants on Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key that were nationally recognized for their commitment to locally sourced, Florida-focused cuisine and responsible sourcing—principles that continue to guide his work on the farm today.
An internationally recognized leader in sustainability, Ed collaborates with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and serves on several regional environmental boards, including the Gulf Seafood Foundation, Solutions to Avoid Red Tide (START), and the Gulf Shellfish Institute. His work reflects a long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and the future of Florida agriculture.
Ed’s current focus is on the future of Florida agriculture—demonstrating how regenerative farming, ecosystem restoration, and local food systems can work together to create lasting environmental and economic impact.
